Borghese Tutti Gelati Collection

Good morning, Dear Reader!

I was out and about taking care of some errands this morning, and I ran into the new Borghese limited edition collection, which I think is called Tutti Gelati. But who knows, I never remember the names of drug store collection correctly, do I? I didn't - I was corrected, thank you!

Anyhow, it had six shades, three of which I have hear to show you. The others were a tealy blue shimmer that looked sheer and wasn't too unique, a melon creme that was totally not unique, and a six so forgettable I don't even recall anything about it an hour later.

The sun was fading in and out for the swatches, and they're the best natural light I was able to get.

Limoncello is a delicate yellow shimmer, and I used it over one coat of Orly White Out. I used three coats of Limoncello - is was okay at two, the third really gave it depth.

Pistacchio is a great green shimmer, but it really needs to go over an opaque base. I did not use one, and it took five coats to completely eliminate VNL, which find just awful with a green.

The one I'm wearing is Tutti Gelati, a pink with a really cool subtle shimmer. The base color is not terribly unique, but the shimmer is. It required three coats.

These all applied really well and were easy to control, so I am happy with them. I just know that next time, Pistacchio needs a white base for me.

The other thing I found while running around was Milani nail art pens, and I grabbed a couple. I'll show you how those are this week.

Borghese Ecstasi Indigo

Good evening, Dear Reader!

I was out and about today and ran into a limited edition Borghese display I've passed up a few times, but this time I cracked and came home with Ecstasi Indigo, which is a very dark blue creme.

I've never had a ton of Borghese - they're pricey for drug store nail polish, and the brush takes some adjustment. I'm used to the brush now and like it, but it is really big. It's still easy to control, which is why I like it.

The quality of Borghese is usually quite good, and that is true of Ecstasi Indigo. In two coats it was deep blue creme perfection.

I added a litle white Konad from plate S9, using White Konad Princess Polish for the stamping.

I got a couple other drug store nail polishes I'll have to show you in the next few days, plus a little surprise.

Borghese Isle of Capri Campanula Bellflower & A Springy Konadicure

Good morning, Dear Reader!


I have two sets of pictures for you today, today's NOTD and yesterday's KOTD.  Today I'm wearing Borghese Campanula Bellflower from the Isle of Capri Collection.  It's a perfect light shimmery purple for Easter.  It went on perfectly (I like the Borghese brush), and it's opaque and even in three coats.






Now you can say you've seen Borghese Campanula Bellflower from the Isle of Capri Collection!

Next up is yesterday's Konadicure of the Day, which started with Color Club Pink Rush, one of their older neons.

I then added a floral tip pattern form Konad plate M69, using Konad Special Nail Polish in white for the stamping.

On to Happier Things: Borghese Celestiale Silver F

Good morning, Dear Reader!

This morning I decided to use and show you a very happy color from Borghese's Roman Holiday Collection, which is just beginning to show up in stores here in Chicago.  I saw the display, a fresh untouched one, for the first time the day before yesterday.

The reason this is a happy color for me is that the collection was rolled out months ago on the West Coast, and my dear friend Love8Brain, with whom I share I love of Borghese amongst other things, sent me the entire collection for my birthday in September.  Although my mom would be thrilled that she has two colors all to herelf, she wouldn't be wild about one of them being a blue (I can just hear the, "Oh, Siobhan....), and I decided I needed something other than SSN that was cheerful for today.  So I went to my cabinet of Special Polishes That Make Me Happy, and Love8Brain's gift of Celestiale Silver F fit the bill both for happy and for a good New Year's color.  Here it is!

 

 

Isn't it pretty and sparkly?  Since this collection is just beginning to show up in the Midwest, I thought I'd show this one to you in case you're confronted with the decision of whether you need it or not.  I say you do!

I also started a new week long poll last night regarding my nail length, which you'll find in the upper right hand corner.  I'm considering taking a little bit of length off of my nails, and thought I'd see what you thought if that idea.  It's a simple Yes/No poll, so please cast a vote if you have an opinion.  As of right now, it looks like I'll be busy filing my nails next weekend.
